Pakistan to Face Bangladesh on Oct 2, Pak-India Clash Set for Oct 5

The ICC has unveiled the schedule for the 2025 Women’s Cricket World Cup, which will be hosted primarily in India with some matches, including Pakistan’s games, played in Colombo under a hybrid model due to ongoing tensions.
Key details of the schedule include:

The tournament will start on September 30, 2025, with the opening match between India and Sri Lanka in Bengaluru.

Pakistan’s first match is against Bangladesh on October 2 in Colombo.

The highly anticipated India vs Pakistan match is set for October 5 in Colombo.

Pakistan will also play against Australia on October 8, England on October 15, New Zealand on October 18, South Africa on October 21, and Sri Lanka on October 24, mostly in Colombo.

The round-robin stage runs until October 26, with the top four teams advancing to the semi-finals scheduled for October 29 and 30.

The final will take place on November 2, either in Bengaluru or Colombo, depending on whether Pakistan qualifies for the final (if Pakistan qualifies, the final will be in Colombo; otherwise, it will be in Bengaluru).
Other notable matches include defending champions Australia starting their campaign against New Zealand on October 1 in Indore, and England facing South Africa on October 3 in Bengaluru.
The venues for the tournament include Bengaluru, Indore, Guwahati, Visakhapatnam in India, and Colombo in Sri Lanka for the matches involving Pakistan and some others.
All matches are scheduled to start at 3:00 PM local time.
This schedule aims to accommodate security and diplomatic considerations while ensuring a competitive and exciting tournament with the eight best women’s teams in the world.
