Pak vs Ind: Iftikhar’s four sixes at MCG cheer fans amid poor start

Iftikhar’s four sixes at MCG cheer Pakistan fans amid the poor start of innings.

Pakistan takes on the arch-rivals India in the much anticipated T20 World Cup match at the Melbourne Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

Pakistan saw a poor start as both the opening batters Babar Azam and Rizwan were sent back to the dressing room and the falling of wickets was the only constant in Pakistani innings.

India had been remarkable with the ball with his bowlers putting in the best effort with line and length.

India gained the upper hand by taking quick wickets.

While middle-order hard-hitter Iftikhar Ahmad, much criticized in the build-up to the World Cup, justified his selection with a tremendous sixer-laden half-century.

Iftikhar smashed four sixes, three off Indian spinner Axar, in a space of just a few balls in his innings of 51 runs off just 34 balls as Pakistan hit 91 runs for the loss of three wickets in 12 overs.

He was trapped leg before by Muhammad Shami.

Pakistan cricket fans who have a nick ‘Chacha’ for Iftikhar were quick to appreciate his master innings today.

And you can’t deny the contribution of meme-brigade in appreciation tweets for Chacha:
