Imad Wasim Announces Retirement from International Cricket
Representing Pakistan on the world stage has been the greatest honor of my life, says Imad
Pakistani all-rounder Imad Wasim announced his retirement from international cricket for the second time on Friday.
He expressed that representing Pakistan on the world stage had been the greatest honour of his life.
Announcing his decision in a social media post, Imad Wasim, 35, said, “After much thought and reflection, I have decided to retire from international cricket. Representing Pakistan on the world stage has been the greatest honour of my life, and every moment wearing the green jersey has been unforgettable.”
“Your love, support, and passion have always been my biggest strength. From the highs to the lows, your encouragement has pushed me to give my best for our beloved country,” he added.
“While this chapter comes to an end, I look forward to continuing my journey in cricket through domestic and franchise cricket, and I hope to keep entertaining you all in new ways,” he said thanking the nation “for everything”.

Over his career, he played 55 One Day Internationals (ODIs) and 75 Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is), scoring 1,540 runs and taking 117 wickets.
Imad had initially retired in November 2023 but returned to international cricket in March 2024 after a successful stint in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). His performance there prompted calls from fans and pundits for his return to the national team ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
However, following a disappointing campaign where Pakistan failed to progress past the group stage, he has now decided to step back from international play once more.
