Imam-ul-Haq Ruled Out for Two Weeks After Facial Injury
He suffers a mild concussion and is stable

Pakistan opener Imam-ul-Haq has been declared stable following a facial injury sustained during the third ODI against New Zealand on April 5, 2025.
The incident occurred in the third over of Pakistan’s run chase when a fielder’s throw deflected off Imam’s helmet and struck him in the face. The ball lodged under his helmet grill caused significant pain and forced him to retire hurt after scoring just one run off seven balls.
Imam collapsed to the ground in visible pain and was taken off the field via ambulance for medical evaluation. Medical assessments, including a CT scan, confirmed a mild concussion but no serious damage.
Specialists at Tauranga Hospital have advised him to rest for two weeks, ruling him out of all sporting activities during this period.
He has been declared fit for air travel, and the Pakistan team management will monitor his recovery closely.
This injury forced Imam to retire hurt early in Pakistan’s innings, and Usman Khan replaced him at the crease. Despite a strong start to their chase of New Zealand’s 265-run target, Pakistan ultimately fell short by 43 runs, resulting in a 3-0 series loss.
