India entered in Pakistan-hosted mega-event’s final as favourites, having maintained an unbeaten run throughout the tournament. Their strong spin attack, led by Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakravarthy, and Ravindra Jadeja, played a crucial role in controlling New Zealand’s innings.
New Zealand, despite a solid opening partnership, struggled to score boundaries, with a notable drought of 81 balls without a boundary. Their captain, Mitchell Santner, won the toss and chose to bat first, but they faced significant challenges against India’s spinners.
