India Refuses to Feature Pakistan on Champions Trophy Jerseys

Rohit Sharma May Skip Captains' Meeting in Karachi

Reports indicate that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided not to feature “Pakistan” on Team India’s jerseys for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025, despite Pakistan being the official host nation.

This decision has sparked significant controversy amid ongoing tensions between the two countries in cricketing relations.

The BCCI has firmly stated it will not print “Pakistan” on the Indian team’s jerseys, citing security concerns associated with playing in Pakistan. Instead, all of India’s matches are scheduled in Dubai.

This move has been criticized by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), which argues that it politicizes cricket and harms the sport.

There are also reports suggesting that Indian captain Rohit Sharma may skip the captains’ meeting in Pakistan before the tournament, further escalating tensions between the BCCI and PCB. While Sharma was expected to attend this event, his travel remains uncertain due to BCCI’s stance on the overall situation.
