Jofra Archer Breaks England ODI Record: Fastest to 50 Wickets in 30 Matches!

This impressive feat surpasses the previous record held by James Anderson

Jofra Archer has made history by becoming the fastest England bowler to reach 50 wickets in One-Day Internationals (ODIs), achieving this milestone in just 30 matches.

On Wednesday, the 29-year-old reached the milestone in England’s Group B clash against Afghanistan at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

He struck in the fifth over, removing Rahmanullah Gurbaz and dismissing Sediqullah Atal just four balls later. Archer maintained his blistering form, taking a third wicket by sending Rahmat Shah back to the pavilion, becoming the first England bowler to claim three wickets inside the powerplay in Champions Trophy history.

 

This impressive feat surpasses the previous record held by James Anderson, marking a significant achievement for Archer in his ODI career.

Archer, who debuted in ODIs in 2019, played a pivotal role in England’s World Cup-winning campaign that year. The right-arm pacer has since built an impressive international record, claiming 42 Test wickets and 41 T20I dismissals.
