Kamran Ghulam Shines on Debut: Becomes 13th Pakistani to Century on First Test

A hundred on debut takes character, at least. Specially if you are replacing Baber Azam.

In a remarkable display of skill and resilience, Kamran Ghulam made a stunning debut for Pakistan in Test cricket, scoring an impressive 118 runs off 224 balls.

With this achievement, he joined the elite club of only 13 Pakistan batsmen to score a century on their debut and etched his name in history as the first to accomplish this feat against England.

Kamran Ghulam was included in Pakistan’s Playing XI for the second Test against England in place of star batter Babar Azam.

He arrived at the crease with Pakistan reeling at 19-2 within the first ten overs and played a key role in the team’s recovery, forging a 149-run partnership with Saim Ayub for the third wicket.

His resilient performance under pressure in his debut Test garnered significant acclaim from star batter Babar Azam.

The star batter shared a picture of Kamran celebrating his first Test century, with the caption reading, “Well played, Kamran!”

The most recent Pakistani to score a century on his test debut was Abid Ali, who achieved the feat against Sri Lanka in December 2019.
