Lahore Qalandars handed Islamabad United their first defeat in PSL 10

In the 19th match of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10, Lahore Qalandars delivered a commanding performance, defeating Islamabad United by 88 runs at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. This victory marked Islamabad United’s first loss in the tournament.

This victory was significant for Lahore Qalandars as it not only handed Islamabad United their first defeat in PSL 10 but also showcased Lahore’s strength in both batting and bowling departments.

Batting first, Lahore Qalandars posted a formidable total of 209 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Key contributions came from Fakhar Zaman (44), Sikandar Raza (39), and Daryl Mitchell (28). Mohammad Naeem added 25 runs, while Abdullah Shafique scored 22. Sam Billings remained unbeaten with 38 runs.

For Islamabad United, Imad Wasim and Jason Holder were the standout bowlers, each claiming two wickets.

Chasing a target of 210, Islamabad United struggled against Lahore’s bowling attack and were bowled out for 121 runs. Andries Gous top-scored with 41 runs, followed by Agha Salman with 36 and Shadab Khan with 13.

Haris Rauf led the bowling attack with 4 wickets, while Sikandar Raza contributed with 3 wickets, dismantling Islamabad’s batting lineup.
