Matt Henry’s Champions Trophy Final Participation in Doubt Due to Shoulder Injury
If Henry is unable to participate, Jacob Duffy could potentially replace him in the lineup.

New Zealand fast bowler Matt Henry’s participation in the Champions Trophy final against India at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on March 9 is uncertain due to a shoulder injury.
The injury occurred during the semifinal match against South Africa in Lahore when Henry attempted to catch a ball from Heinrich Klaasen and landed awkwardly on his right shoulder.
Despite the injury, Henry returned to the field and bowled two more overs, taking the wicket of Kagiso Rabada.
New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner described Henry’s shoulder as “a bit sore,” and the team is waiting for further assessment to determine his availability for the final.
Coach Gary Stead has also expressed optimism about Henry’s recovery, stating that while his fitness status is “unknown,” they will give him every chance to play.
If Henry is unable to participate, Jacob Duffy could potentially replace him in the lineup.
Henry has been a crucial player for New Zealand in the tournament, currently leading the wicket-taking charts with 10 wickets at an average of 16.70, including five wickets against India in the group stage.
His absence could significantly impact New Zealand’s chances against India.
