Former fast bowler, Mohammad Akram to be appointed as Pakistan’s new chief selector, news source.
However, the selection committee will remain the same just the head coach will change.
The development comes after Misbah-ul-Haq’sresignation from the post of PCB’s chief selector on Wednesday. Misbah will focus on the head coach’s role of the men’s national team.
The new chief selector will begin his tenure from 1 December and until then, Misbah will carry out selection responsibilities.
Mohammad Akram, a right-arm fast-medium bowler, represented Pakistan in 9 Test matches and 23 One Day International matches between 1995–1996 and 2000-2001.
In August 2012 he was appointed Pakistan’s bowling coach. PCB removed Muhammad Akram from the post in 2014 while giving him the fresh responsibilities of being a member of the national selection committee and head coach at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore.
