Cricketer Mohammad Hafeez denies getting show cause notice from FBR for hiding assets

Cricketer Mohammad Hafeez has denied the reports claiming that he has been served with a show-cause notice for hiding assets. Says that he is a regular taxpayer and has not received any notice from the FBR.

Reportedly, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) issued on Thursday a show-cause notice to Pakistan’s former captain Mohammad Hafeez for hiding assets.

While talking to Geo News, Hafeez Said, “I am unaware of any notice from the FBR. I have no idea why such a piece of news is being spread.”

Hafeez also denied the allegations of any tax evasion or asset concealment, saying that “I file my tax returns every year without fail.”

According to the sources, a show-cause notice has been issued against Hafeez for hiding assets, the cricketer was being audited for the past five years, as FBR is conducting audit from 2014 to 2018.

As per sources, Hafeez did not disclose assets worth about Rs 170 million and details of Hafeez were sought from all banks.
