Shadab Khan on Monday has been ruled out of the series against South Africa and Zimbabwe due to injury.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) earlier in the day announced that Shadab Khan has been ruled out of cricket for four weeks due to a foot injury.
He will not be available for the ongoing series against South Africa and the upcoming series against Zimbabwe.
The PCB says Shadab Khan was injured during the second ODI against South Africa and has been diagnosed with a fracture in his left leg.
The cricket board said Shadab Khan has been offered a four-week rehab.
“X-rays conducted following the match revealed an ‘intraarticular communicated fracture’ though there is neither any displacement nor angulation,” the PCB statement said.
As being reported, Shadab will be replaced by Muhammad Nawaz in the third ODI. While if Hassan Ali passes the fitness test, he will replace Harris Rauf.
Meanwhile, Shadab Khan in a Twitter message said that he was working “very very hard” to regain fitness and will “bounce back and win matches for Pakistan”.
In a tweet shared after the PCB announcement, Shadab Khan said, “Ball hit me on the toe while batting which has ruled me out of the tour. I am working very very hard and giving it my all, I have not been able to perform at the level I want to but hard work will InshAllah pay off. InshAllah I will bounce back and win matches for Pakistan.”
