New Zealand concluded their dominance over Pakistan in the T20 series with a commanding 129-run victory in the fifth and final match on Wednesday, securing the series 4-1.
The match, played in Wellington, showcased stellar performances from Tim Seifert and Jimmy Neesham.
The hosts comfortably chased down a modest score of 128 given by the visitors, knocking winning runs for the loss of just two wickets and 60 balls to spare, courtesy of a blazing opening stand between Tim Seifert and Finn Allen.
Neesham was the standout bowler for New Zealand, taking five wickets for just 22 runs in his four overs.
Tim Seifert’s Explosive Innings: Seifert smashed an unbeaten 97 off just 38 balls, featuring six fours and ten sixes. His aggressive batting dismantled Pakistan’s bowling attack, with New Zealand chasing the target of 129 runs in just 10 overs.
Finn Allen contributed 27 runs off 12 balls, while Daryl Mitchell remained not out on two.
Pakistan’s Struggles: Batting first, Pakistan managed only 128/9. Captain Salman Ali Agha scored a valiant 51 off 39 balls, supported by Shadab Khan’s 28 off 20.
However, Jimmy Neesham’s exceptional bowling (5/22) dismantled Pakistan’s lineup, with Jacob Duffy also contributing with figures of 2/18.
Series Outcome: New Zealand’s comprehensive performance highlighted their depth and dominance throughout the series.
