Nooh Butt wins silver medal in Tashkent 2021 World Weightlifting Championships

Another proud moment for Pakistan!

Pakistani weightlifter Nooh Butt has won a silver medal in Tashkent 2021 World Weightlifting Championships on Friday.

Butt won a silver in the plus 109 kg competition total.

He lifted a total weight of 390 kg, which included 165 kg in snatch and 225 kg in clean and jerk.

Nooh could not make it to the contention for the Tokyo Olympics slot due to fitness issues.

 Pakistan’s prolific weightlifter finished second in the 109+ weight category by lifting 390 kg and has also qualified for Commonwealth Games.

This is the second medal from the Pakistan lifter at the event. 

Earlier, Talha Talib had claimed bronze in snatch in 67kg. Abu Bakar Ghani had finished 13th in 61kg while Hanzala Dastagir had finished 17th in 109kg.
