Pakistan aim to tarnish Joe Denly’s World Cup audition

After a run feast on Saturday, both Pakistan and England are expected to make changes to their bowling line up for the 3rd ODI of the series. Jos Buttler after trashing Pakistani bowling on Saturday, has been given a rest. Similarly, Adil Rashid is expected to sit out the ODI. On Pakistan’s side at least one change is expected, Yasir Shah making way for Junaid Khan.

Joe Denly is attempting to make a transformation in his career, and if Pakistan allow him a decent outing with the ball tomorrow, he might nail his place in the World Cup squad. It could shape his ODI career going forward. Similarly, James Vince who seems to be a favourite of the management will get a chance, probably lower down the order.

On Pakistan’s side, one change is pretty much given, that is Junaid Khan’s inclusion in place of Yasir Shah.  Amir’s misfortune might confirm Junaid’s place in the squad. However, Amir hasn’t been ruled out of the series yet, so the heat is still on. Mohammad Hasnain might also get a run in place of Shaheen Shah Afridi. It will also be interesting to see if Shoaib Malik and/or Mohammad Hafeez are given a chance. Given Asif Ali’s 50, Haris Sohail might be the one making way if either comes in the 11.

Bristol, has a decent batting wicket and small boundaries. Expect another run feast. It must be good for advertising.
