Pakistan announce playing XI for second Test against West Indies

Kashif Ali, replacing Khurram Shahzad, will be making his Test debut

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday announced the playing XI for the second and final Test against the West Indies, set to begin at the Multan Cricket Stadium on January 25.

PCB has made one change to the side. Pacer Kashif Ali, who will be making his Test debut, will be replacing Khurram Shahzad.

The right-arm pacer, Kashif Ali, has been excelling with consistent performances in first-class cricket. His five-wicket haul for Pakistan Shaheens against Sri Lanka in November 2024, earned him a place in the national side.

Kashif will be the sole pacer in Pakistan’s upcoming match as the team continues with a spin-dominant bowling lineup, including Sajid Khan, Noman Ali, and Abrar Ahmed.

His selection marks the only change in the squad that secured a commanding 127-run win against the West Indies in the series opener at the same venue.

Young opener Muhammad Huraira will partner with skipper Shan Masood at the top of the order, with star batter Babar Azam slated to bat next.

Pakistan’s middle order consists of Kamran Ghulam, vice-captain Saud Shakeel, wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan, and all-rounder Salman Ali Agha.

Pakistan’s playing XI:

Shan Masood (c), Muhammad Huraira, Babar Azam, Kamran Ghulam, Saud Shakeel, Mohammad Rizwan, Salman Ali Agha, Sajid Khan, Noman Ali, Abrar Ahmed, Kashif Ali.
