Pakistan cricket team arrives in New York ahead of match against India

Pakistan will play two matches in New York on June 9th and 11th

Pakistan cricket team arrived in New York on Friday ahead of the much anticipated T20 World Cup match against India.

Pakistan will face arch-rivals India on June 9 at 7:30 pm (PKT) at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium.

“The team, led by captain Babar Azam, was warmly received by Consul General Aamer Ahmad Atozai,” PTV News said in a post on X.

A day after Pakistan suffered a stunning defeat to hosts United States in their first match of the tournament, the consul general of Pakistan Aamer Ahmad Atozai received the team at the New York airport.

Atozai also extended his best wishes to the team and urged the Pakistani diaspora and cricket fans in New York and across the US to come out in large numbers to support the team

“Your encouragement and presence will undoubtedly boost the morale of our players and inspire them to achieve great success,” Atozai said, wishing the team a “successful and memorable tournament.”

Pakistan will play against Canada on June 11 at 7:30 pm (PKT) on the same ground, in its third outing of the tournament.
