Pakistani players knocked out of Pakistan Open Men’s Squash Championship

Pakistan will have no representation in the quarterfinals of the the Pakistan Open Men’s Squash Championship 2018 & Serena Hotels Pakistan Open Women’s Squash Championship 2018, as Tayyab Aslam was beaten easily by top seed Egyptian Karim Abdel Gawad 3-1.

Karim, a former World Champion was always ahead in the game and it was a relaxed victory. Pakistan is not being represented by their top players. Farhan Mehboob and Amir Atlas have both missed the tournament. Farhan, in fact had recently overcame Gawad.

Gawad took the lead by winning the 1st game 11-6. In the 2nd game Tayyab Aslam showed fight, taking it 13-11. However, Gawad took his game to another level in the next two games taking them 11-5 and 11-2. Will take on compatriot Mazen Gamal in the quarterfinal.

While in the ladies category, Amna Fayyaz lost out to top seed Yathreb Adel of Egypt. The final score was 11-8, 11-6 and 11-4. While, Pakistan’s other hope, beat Madina Zafar was knocked out by Satomi Watanabe. The score was 11-9, 11-4 and 11-5.
