#PAKvsBAN: Injury scare for Naseem Shah

He seemed to have stretched his right shoulder as he slid near the boundary line to stop the ball from crossing the fence on 7th over

Pakistan pacer Naseem Shah walked off the field after slipping near the boundary rope during the Asia Cup 2023 Super-4 match against Bangladesh at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Wednesday.

There is likely to be an injury scare for Naseem as he seems to have stretched his right shoulder.

Naseem ran from a fine leg and slid near the boundary line to stop the ball from crossing the fence during the seventh over of Bangladesh’s batting.

He was back up after a few minutes but left the field in order to get some treatment.

Naseem had bowled three overs and took one wicket for 22 runs before leaving the field.

By the time of filing this story, Bangladesh was 49/4 at the end of the 10th over.

Bangladesh decided to bat first against Pakistan after winning the toss in the first Super-4 match during the ongoing Asia Cup 2023.

Naseem dismissed Mehidy Hasan on the first bowl of the second over.

Speaking after winning the toss, Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan said that the team would put pressure on the Green Shirts if they managed to put runs on the board.

“We want to replicate what we did against Afghanistan but we are facing the no. 1 team in the world so we need to play our best. We know what their strengths and weaknesses are,” he said.

Meanwhile, Babar Azam said that if Pakistan had won the toss, the team would also have opted to bat.
