PCB invites SLC to play two-match test series in Pakistan

Pakistan Cricket Board has invited SLC to play their two-match Test Series in Pakistan. The test matches are scheduled to be played in October. For the past ten years, Pakistan have played their test matches in UAE, due to unstable security situation in the country.

However, the past couple of years cricket has slowly started to come back in the country with Zimbabwe, West Indies, Sri Lanka, a World 11 and international PSL players visiting the country. Sri Lanka Cricket is waiting for a security assessment before making their final call on the invitation.

PCB had earlier confirmed that the two boards had discussed about the tour in the ICC’s annual conference in London held recently. However, discussions have been going on since the Asia Cup meeting held in Singapore. Building on those talks, PCB extended an invitation last week. SLC will send a security delegation to inspect the security plans on both venues i.e. Karachi and Lahore. Sri Lanka was the last team to tour Pakistan to play a test match.

This series will the start of upcoming Test Championship for both sides.
