PSL will come back stronger than ever, said Shahid Afridi.

Former Pakistan cricketer who now represents Multan Sultans at PSL 6 took to social media to share his views.

“Despite a challenging situation, I feel the PSL could have been completed even with only local/young players involved”,  Shahid Afridi wrote in his tweet.

“PSL is all about nurturing new talent. The tournament was very entertaining and provided quality cricket to fans around the world,” he added.

“I fully back the PSL and IA it will come back stronger than ever,” Shahid Afridi endorsed.

Shahid Afridi also urged fans to be careful during these stressful days. He said, “And please remember corona is still around, please take care and follow all SOPs for your and the health of your loved ones.”

After a few positive cases in the league, Pakistan Cricket Board on Thursday announced that PSL 6 is postponed.

“Following a meeting with the team owners and considering the health and wellbeing of all participants is paramount, the Pakistan Cricket Board has decided to postpone the HBL Pakistan Super League 6 with immediate effect. The decision was made after seven cases were reported in the competition, which had started on 20 February,” the cricket body said in a press release.

Many of the Pakistan Super League’s fans took to social media to express their disappointment following PCB’s announcement.

The day also saw reports of two more players  of Islamabad United testing positive for coronavirus, including Hassan Ali and Hussain Tallat.

Quetta Gladiators defeated Multan Sultan by 22 runs, bagging the first victory of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2021 in the last match played on Wednesday.
