PSL X Match-5: Islamabad United Crush Peshawar Zalmi by 102 Runs

Chasing a mammoth target of 244, Peshawar Zalmi were bowled out for just 141 runs in the 19th over.

In the fifth HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10 match, Islamabad United thrashed Peshawar Zalmi by a massive margin of 102 runs.

The match, played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, saw Islamabad United captain Shadab Khan win the toss and elect to bat first.

Batting first, Islamabad United piled up a huge total of 243 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

Sahibzada Farhan starred with the bat, scoring a magnificent 106 runs. He completed his century off just 49 balls, smashing 13 fours and 4 sixes.

Other notable contributions came from Colin Munro (40) and Salman Agha (30).

For Peshawar Zalmi, Dominic Drakes (Joseph) and Hussain Talat took 2 wickets each.

In response, chasing a mammoth target of 244, Peshawar Zalmi were bowled out for just 141 runs in the 19th over.

Mohammad Haris was the lone warrior for Zalmi, scoring 87 runs, while the rest of the batting lineup crumbled. Captain Babar Azam could manage only 1 run, Saim Ayub scored 6, and Hussain Talat contributed 13 runs.

From Islamabad United’s bowling attack, Imad Wasim took 3 wickets, while Shadab Khan and Ben Dwarshuis claimed 2 wickets each.

This was the second match of the tournament for both teams.

With this win, Islamabad United now have 4 points, while Peshawar Zalmi are still looking for their first win, having lost their opening match to Quetta Gladiators.
