Pakistani skipper has extended his apologies for the last match’s event. Which trended on a lot of stir in the cricketing world including social media.
In a series of tweets, Sarfaraz Ahmed tries to clear his name from what happened yesterday during the ODI match against SA.
“I wish to extend my sincere apologies to any person who may have taken offense from my expression of frustration which was unfortunately caught by the stump mic during yesterday’s game against SA”, wrote Sarfaraz.
He further added, “My words were not directed towards anyone in particular”.
In his next post, he writes, “I certainly had no intention of upsetting anyone. I did not even mean for my words to be heard, understood or communicated to the opposing team or the cricket fans”
“I have in the past and will continue in future to appreciate the camaraderie of my fellow cricketers from across the globe and will always respect and honor them on and off the field”, he further added.
His offensive comments were caught up on stump mic during the match against SA yesterday. And later The Pakistan captain was criticized by fans who called his comments against a South African all-rounder as a racial slur.
