Satire: Wahab Riaz justifies selection with quick fire 18

On a depressing day, Pakistan team management showed jubilation at the batting contribution of fast bowler Wahab Riaz. Pakistan, crumbled under pressure from short pitch bowling from the West Indies.

However, Wahab came in at 81-8 and dismantled opposition captain Jason Holder in one over. The consequential over was 17th in the innings. One ball Wahab faced went over mid-wicket, showing the senior men how it’s done. The fifth ball of the over, was swung away over covers. But the final strike was the most telling as the ball flew over square leg for a gigantic six.

“We could haven’t asked for more,” said a visibly excited Mickey Arthur.

“We wanted to bring back Wahab Riaz back for his reverse swing. But it’s really been a reverse scenario, as he surprised us with his outstanding batting,” coach added.

Pakistan also requested that this game should be considered a warm up game as they couldn’t play their official warm match against Bangladesh.
