Shaheen Afridi Reclaims No. 1 Spot in ICC Men’s ODI Bowler Rankings
Haris Rauf made notable strides, jumping 14 positions to achieve a career-high 13th place in the ODI rankings
Shaheen Afridi has reclaimed the No. 1 position in the ICC Men’s ODI bowler rankings announced on Wednesday, November 13, 2024.
This achievement marks a significant milestone for the Pakistani fast bowler, who has been instrumental in his team’s recent performances.
Afridi’s current rating stands at 655 points, placing him ahead of other prominent bowlers such as South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj (674 points) who dropped to third place. Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan with 668 points in at second sport.
Meanwhile, Haris Rauf made notable strides, jumping 14 positions to achieve a career-high 13th place in the ODI rankings after being named Player of the Series in Pakistan’s 2-1 victory over Australia.
In addition, Naseem Shah also reached a personal best, climbing 14 spots to tie for 55th place in the rankings.
Alongside Afridi’s achievement, Babar Azam continues to hold the No. 1 spot among ODI batters, showcasing Pakistan’s strong presence in the ICC rankings.
The right-handed batter extended his lead over India’s Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Virat Kohli, thanks to his 80 runs across three matches against Australia, in which he was dismissed only once.
Pakistan’s newly-appointed white-ball captain, Mohammad Rizwan, also made progress, rising two spots to a joint 23rd in the ODI batting rankings after scoring 74 runs in three innings against Australia.
Meanwhile, Afghanistan’s veteran Mohammad Nabi, who is set to retire from his illustrious ODI career, maintained his position at the top of the all-rounders’ rankings.
He is followed by Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza and his fellow Afghan teammate, Rashid Khan, in the rankings.
