Sindh Minister Launches Inclusive Sports Competitions for Transgender Individuals and Prisoners

Sindh Sports Department’s slogan this year is “Sports for All”

Sindh’s Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Sardar Muhammad Bakhsh Mahar, on Tuesday announced the introduction of sports competitions specifically for transgender individuals and prisoners in the province.

This initiative aims to promote inclusivity and provide opportunities for marginalized communities to engage in sports.

The inclusive sports events will be held around the year 2025 under the slogan of ‘Sports for All’.

The announcement was made as the provincial minister addressed a ceremony held at the Karachi Youth Club under the Sports Department to honour the Sindh athletes who won medals in the Quaid-e-Azam Inter-Provincial Games Islamabad.

The Sindh sports minister said that sports are a sign of a healthy society and there is no shortage of talent in Sindh which is evident from their good performance in inter-provincial sports events.
He said that the Sindh Sports Department’s slogan this year is “Sports for All” and for the first time in the history of Pakistan, sports competitions will also be organized for transgenders.
Sardar Muhammad Bakhsh Mahar assured better training facilities to the players of the province along with training abroad and hoped that Sindh players will continue to provide better results in the future.
The minister appreciated associations for their efforts towards the promotion of sports and said that we will also take steps for the welfare of former players of the province.
