Sune Luus to captain South Africa for Pakistan series

Sune Luus hass been named captain of South Africa for the upcoming home series against Pakistan. Regular captain Dane van Niekerk, is yet to recover fully from the stress fracture of the right femur. She suffered the injury during a match against Sri Lanka in February.

Luus was dropped from the team against Sri Lanka. However, she came back due to injury to Chloe Tyron and help South Africa complete the clean sweep against Sri Lanka with 4-30. Tyron and Lizelle Lee, both have been brought back to the side after meeting the team’s fitness standards.

Both teams would be looking to earn points to move up the ICC Women’s Championship. Currently, Pakistan are 6th, while South Africa are 5th.

3 match ODI series begins from May 6th, while the 5 match T20I series kicks off from May 15th.
