The 8th edition of PSL kicks off in Multan

A glittering opening ceremony concluded with with a spectacular display of fireworks.

The 8th edition of the Pakistan Super League PSL kicks off in Multan!

A glittering opening ceremony was held at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Monday evening.

 

 

Natasha Baig sang her rendition of the National anthem at the much-awaited opening ceremony. 

While Shae Gill, Asim Azhar and Faris Shafi performed the new PSL anthem.

 

PCB Management Committee Chairman Najam Sethi speaking at the opening ceremony said: “PSL has given several assets to Pakistan. This has become an international brand that we can be proud of. This year [several] foreign and local players are debuting.”

He added that the tournament has given several stars to the national side, including Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Hasan Ali.

Najam Sethi said “PSL will be taken to Quetta & Peshawar in 2024. The supernova trophy of PSL 8 has been made in France. For today my heart is with Lahore while my mind says, Multan.”

“Full congratulations in advance to those who will win. Let the game begin,” he said.

HBL CEO Muhammad Aurangzeb addressing the ceremony hoped that the young players would perform well in the tournament.

He also urged the fans in the stadium and around the world to enjoy the tournament.

“No matter which team wins […] the real victory is of Pakistan,” he said.

The evening saw the opening ceremony wrapped up with a spectacular display of fireworks.
