Twitter celebrates as Babar and Malik lead Pakistan into the T20 World Cup semi-final against Australia after defeating Scotland by 72 runs on Sunday.

With the victory, Pakistan sits on the top of the points table of Group 2 with five wins in as many games, earning ten points.

Both the skipper Babar Azam and allrounder Shoaib Malik had been magnificent with the bat scoring centuries against the weaker opponent Scotland.

Skipper Babar scored a 47-ball-66 for his 24th fifty in Twenty20 internationals, and his fourth in five matches, while Malik’s inning was a smasher on 18-ball 54 not out as Pakistan posted 189-4 in their 20 overs.

Mohammad Hafeez scored a brisk 19-ball 31 with four boundaries and a six.

Following the win against Scotland, The Prime Minister Office (PMO) tweeted that the whole nation was proud of the team and wished them luck for the semi-final.

“God willing it’s coming home!” the PMO tweeted.

 

President Dr. Arif Alvi took to Twitter congratulating the green team with advice, “Two more performances to go. Keep up your brilliance and you will come home [as] winners.”

Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Ramiz Raja in his tweet said, “Another impressive all-round show. For a World Cup run, five out of five wins is an incredible effort. Head down though for the final sprint.”

Well, congratulations are in order for the Pakistan team following an overall impressive performance.

And the nation wants them to continue the feat in the semi-final as well.
