U-19 Series: Pakistan take series with a thumping win

Pakistan U-19 team continued their dominance over South Africa U-19 by taking the 4th 50 over contest by a comprehensive margin of 88 runs. Pakistan have now taken an unassailable lead of 4-0 in the seven match series.

After having won the toss, Pakistan batted 1st and lost their opener Saim Ayub early. However, both Haider Ali and Fahad Munir knitted 50s as Pakistan laid a strong foundation. Captain Rohail Nazir, scored 89. While, Haris Khan and Abbas Afridi provided impetus with aggressive 62 and 30 runs respectively. Pakistan finished on 341-8 in their quota of 50 overs. All South African bowlers took a pounding. Imran Philander was the pick of the lot, finishing with 3 wickets.

South Africa started brightly reaching 128 for 1 loss only in the 22nd over. Ruan Terblanche and Jonathan Bird both scored 50s to put South Africa is a relatively solid position. However, their batting crumbled under pressure and they were bowled out for 253. Pacer Naseem Shah and Aamir Ali picked up four wickets each.

Pakistan would be hoping to keep the pressure on and complete the white wash.
