Usman Khan Ruled Out of Second ODI Against New Zealand Due to Injury
Opening batter injured while fielding in Pakistan’s first ODI on Friday

Pakistan’s opening batter Usman Khan has been ruled out of the second ODI against New Zealand due to a hamstring injury sustained during the first match at McLean Park in Napier.
The injury occurred while fielding, and an MRI scan confirmed a low-grade tear, making him unavailable for the second ODI scheduled for April 2 in Hamilton.
In the first ODI, the 29-year-old Usman made his debut, scoring 39 off 33 balls, contributing to an 83-run opening partnership with Abdullah Shafique.
However, Pakistan ultimately lost the match by 73 runs while chasing a target of 345 set by New Zealand, who were propelled by Mark Chapman’s century and a strong performance from their lower order.
The second ODI will take place in Hamilton, with Pakistan looking to bounce back in the three-match series, which New Zealand currently leads 1-0.
