West Indies took the T20I series after a thrilling super over win over Pakistan. The 2nd Women’s T20I was a see-saw battle which finished with Deandra Dottin having her way in the super over.
Batting 1st Pakistan scored 132 runs for the loss 4 wickets. Umaima Sohail went early but Javeria Khan along with Bismah Maroof steadied the innings. Nida Dar and Iram Javed continued the good work. However none of the players went past 31 and all scored at a strike rate under 105. Aliya Riaz, came in late to give the innings some impetus, scoring 23 of 13. Deandra Dottin was impressive with the ball too picking up a couple of wickets.
In reply, Dottin gave the Windies a good start scoring 24 ball 22. Shemaine Campbelle, top scored with 41 and along with opener Knight took West Indies to 82 for 1. However, Pakistan pushed back restricting the scoring and picking up 4 wickets. In the last over West Indies need 13 runs against Nashra Sandhu. It was honours even as Sandhu got a wicket but also went for 12, taking the game to the super over.
Experienced former captain Sana Mir, bowled the super over and for 18. Dottin, hit for a two sixes and four. Pakistan lost both wickets to Shakera Selman and scored just one run.
