The legendary football duo of Ricardo Kaka and Luis Figo, landed at the Karachi International Airport early today. Brazilian and Portuguese national footballer are in Pakistan to formally launch the World Soccer Stars event in Karachi.
A special appearance at Pearl Continental Karachi was scheduled, while they will also visit the historical city of Lahore.
They traveled in a special flight from Dubai to Karachi and were gifted the traditional Sindh Ajrak and Topi.
Football activity in Pakistan has been on the rise in recent years. In 2017, global super star such as Ryan Giggs and Ronaldinho had visited the country to play exhibition games.
World Soccer Stars aims to uplift football in Pakistan. The event will see use of interactive coaching clinics, assessed by some of the best international footballers as well as offer an opportunity to football talent at grass-root level to recognize their skills.
The international event is the brainchild of Ahmer Kunwar, a UK-born Pakistani, who is the CEO of Touch Sky Group (TSG). World Soccer Stars is not just a sporting event, but a platform which will catapult Pakistan to international markets and promote the country’s soft image in the process. The event will be hosted by Bilal Ashraf in Pakistan.
