TikTok Bypasses App Store Restrictions for US Android Users Offering Direct Download
While existing users can still use TikTok, new downloads are not possible through official app stores like Google Play and Apple App Store.

TikTok has introduced a new method for US Android users to download its app directly from its website, bypassing the restrictions imposed by a recent US law.
This move comes as Apple and Google continue to keep TikTok off their app stores due to national security concerns related to its Chinese parent company, ByteDance.
The law, which took effect on January 19, requires ByteDance to either sell TikTok or face a ban in the US. This decision was made due to concerns that ByteDance could be compelled by Beijing to provide user data or influence content.
US President Donald Trump signed an executive order delaying the enforcement of this law by 75 days. However, discussions are ongoing regarding potential buyers for TikTok, with a decision expected soon.
While existing users can still use TikTok, new downloads are not possible through official app stores like Google Play and Apple App Store.
To circumvent these restrictions, TikTok is offering package kits on its website for Android users in the US. This allows them to download and install the app without relying on traditional app stores.
US officials have raised concerns about potential misuse of American user data under ByteDance’s ownership. However, TikTok maintains that it operates independently with strict safeguards for user information stored on Oracle-operated servers in the US.
