Musk Says Twitter Will Charge $8 a Month for Verified Accounts
Since taking over the Twitter, Elon Musk has moved quickly to put his stamp on the company
Twitter’s new boss Elon Musk has made a suggestion to charge users having accounts with blue tick.
Elon Musk on Tuesday in a series of tweets said that Twitter Inc will charge $8 a month for its Blue service, which includes its sought-after “verified” badge.
“Twitter’s current lords & peasants system for who has or doesn’t have a blue checkmark is bullshit. Power to the people! Blue for $8/month,” Musk tweeted.
“Price adjusted by country proportionate to purchasing power parity,” he added.

Billionaire Musk who bought Twitter for $44 billion last week, went on to elaborate on the new decisions taken.
He said by paying the monthly fee, you will also get:
- Priority in replies, mentions, and searches, which is essential to defeating spam/scam
- Ability to post long video & audio
- Half as many ads
- And paywall bypass for publishers willing to work with us
“This will also give Twitter a revenue stream to reward content creators,” he added.
Furthermore, there will be a secondary tag below the name for someone who is a public figure, which is already the case for politicians.

Since taking over Twitter, Elon Musk is quickly moving forward to put his stamp on the company, firing its previous chief and other top officials.
On the other hand, more than 80% of Twitter users who took part in a recent poll said they would not pay for the checkmark.
While, some 10% said they were willing to pay $5 a month.
