After UAE, Kuwait suspends all commercial flights from Pakistan

Kuwait on Monday has suspended all commercial flights from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka “until further notice” due to the worsening coronavirus situation in these countries.

The state media, quoting an official source, says that the decision was made on the recommendation of its health authority.

To enter Kuwait from the four countries, people must have been in another country for at least 14 days beforehand, the statement said.

However, the cargo flights will continue, as usual, an official statement from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation-Kuwait said.

Kuwait had imposed a similar travel ban on India on April 21 following a surge in COVID-19 cases there.

Earlier in the day, United Arab Emirates (UAE) announced a similar ban on travelers from Pakistan Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.

Following a spike in coronavirus infections across the region, most of the Gulf nations have announced travel bans on South Asian countries.
