Malaysia bans entry of citizens from 23 countries including Pakistan
Malaysia has imposed a ban on the entry of citizens from 23 countries including Pakistan on Tuesday, after witnessing a spike in coronavirus cases.
A list of 23 countries whose citizens are barred from entry into Malaysia was issued by the country’s Immigration Department.
The countries include the United States, Brazil, India, Russia, Peru, Colombia, South Africa, Mexico, Spain, Argentina, Chile, Iran, Bangladesh, United Kingdom, Saudia Arabia, Pakistan, France, Turkey, Italy, Germany, Iraq, Philippines, and Indonesia.
The Malaysian government in an announcement said that it will impose an entry ban on citizens of countries recording more than 150,000 cases of COVID-19 starting September 7, in order to curb the number of imported cases in the country.
At present, the Southeast Asian country Malaysia has 9,459 confirmed coronavirus infections, of which 128 deaths have been reported.
