PIA Hajj flight makes emergency landing in Riyadh

The Hajj flight had departed from Karachi for Jeddah at 10 pm on Friday night.

A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Hajj flight, PK 839, is reported to have made an emergency landing in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, late Friday night.

A Jeddah-bound Hajj flight of PIA made an emergency landing at Riyadh Airport after a high-temperature warning in the cargo.

The Hajj flight took off at 10 pm Saturday from the Jinnah International Airport in Karachi for Jeddah. However, it was diverted to Riyadh for an emergency landing at Jeddah Airport due to a high-temperature warning in the cargo cabin.

Passengers from the Boeing 777 plane were offloaded and shifted to the lounge at the Riyadh airport.

However, it left for its original destination in Jeddah after the inspection, on Saturday.

According to the PIA spokesperson, the pilot received a high temperature warning in the cargo cabin during the flight after which the landing was made in the Saudi capital.

After inspection, it was disclosed that the high-temperature warning was false.
