According to Indian media, Aamir Khan had been wanting to acquire the rights to 1994 Hollywood classic Forrest Gump for a Bollywood remake.
“Aamir wants to make Forrest Gump in Hindi, which he will star in. He wants to play the lead role that Tom Hanks had essayed in the original. It has been on his wishlist for some time,” disclosed a source to the media adding how scripting was underway and Aamir wanted the narrative to be adapted to suit the Indian context.
And now, according to Pinkvilla Aamir Khan has acquired the rights for Forrest Gump and he will be reuniting with Secret Superstar director Advait Chandan to work on the project as his next feature. Although both Aamir and Chandan have commented on the news or confirmed any details, we can only say that if that’s the case, this one is surely going to be a film to watch.
