Boxer Amir Khan offers private property to facilitate coronavirus patients

Coronavirus cases in the world are on a high. The number of those affected and those dying due to this deadly virus are increasing by the minute. The world is on a shortage of medical staff and hospital beds to accommodate such a large number of patients.

In such testing times, British Olympic boxing medalist and two-time world champion Amir Khan, made a big-hearted announcement, to help those in need.

The boxer offered his own private property to be turned into a temporary hospital to facilitate those fighting the coronavirus right now.

“I am aware of how difficult it is for the public to get a hospital bed in this tragic time. I am prepared to give my 60,000 square-foot, four-storey building which is due to be a wedding hall and retail outlet to NHS (National Health Service) to help people affected by the coronavirus. Please keep safe,” wrote Amir in a tweet.

Addressing the National Health Service in Bolton,  his hometown, the boxer added, “We are looking down the barrel of bed shortages and people not getting vital treatment.”

The boxer then added that the NHS had thanked him stating that have not reached capacity. “NHS Bolton will bear this in mind. The offer is there. Please keep safe everyone,” he stated.
