Meghan Markle Faces Backlash for Not Including Queen Elizabeth in Vogue’s Cover

Meghan Markle who has worked hard for the last seven months as the guest editor of British Vogue has revealed the first look of her September’s edition. However, despite the Duchess’s hard work and extraordinary vision, she’s being criticized yet again.

This time critics have opened fire on former Hollywood star for not including her grandmother in law Queen Elizabeth among the 15 women featured on the magazine’s cover.

“Why isn’t HM The Queen included on the cover of September’s Vogue? Her Majesty is the perfect role model: like many of us she had no choice but to do the job she was given. The ultimate in grace & discretion for 70+ years,” said a Twitter user.

“Pathetic front page. Where are doctors, scientists, teachers. Why a child climate change activist who should be in school? Where is Her Majesty the Queen? #vogue #Meghan #duchessofsussex #selfindulgent,” wrote another critic on Twitter.

Meghan’s strong critic and journalist Dan Wootton stated that the Queen would be perceive the Duchess’s attempt idiotic.

“Remember Meghan doesn’t want to be a celebrity, she says she wants to be a royal. Royals don’t guest edit magazines, celebrities guest edit magazines. Do you get me? Do you see the point that I’m making?” said Dan as he dubbed Meghan’s involvement with the magazine an idiotic decision.

The women featured on British Vogue’s September edition titled ‘Forces for Change’ will include actress Salma Hayek, New Zealand’s Prime Minister Jacenda Ardern, climate activist Greta Thunberg and youth activist Yara Shahidi among other influential women.

Editor in chief of Vogue British chapter had earlier reflected upon Meghan’s decision to opt out of cover page as this, “In the end, she felt that it would be in some ways a ‘boastful’ thing to do for this particular project. She wanted, instead, to focus on the women she admires.”
