Palestinian photojournalist Motaz Azaiza received a hero’s welcome in Geneva at the 22nd edition of the International Film Festival and Forum on Human Rights (FIFDH).
The FIFDH 2024 programme aimed to outline the contours of a better future by harnessing the power of cinema and the influential voices of human rights.
Along with Palestinian photojournalist Motaz Azaiza, the Festival also hosted American activist Angela Davis, and Russian journalist and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Dmitri Mouratov.
Taking it to social media, Motaz Azaiza expressed his gratitude for being invited to the premier of Life is Beautiful by Gazan filmmaker Mohammed Jabaly.
“I was overwhelmed by the reception at @fifdh.geneve by the people of Geneva at the premiere of “Life Is Beautiful” by Gazan filmmaker Mohammed Jabaly. I spoke during a panel discussion about what’s happening in Gaza right now as I’m on an official trip to share my people’s voice here and everywhere I go. Thank you,” the Gazan photojournalist wrote.
Since October 7, 2023, Motaz’s Instagram posts and media appearances offered humane and tragic insight into the plight of the Palestinians.
“As I’m talking through this microphone, people are dying. How can I do more? I already showed everything,” FIFDH quoted Motaz Azaiza.
