Last episode for the drama serial Baaghi will hit screens tonight. The series which spins around the controversial life story of murdered actor Qandeel Baloch, faces a controversy itself. The main lead Saba Qamar responds to it on social media quoting words of the producer for the series Nina Kashif:
The controversy was raised on social media so it was responded here as well. A week ago, a social media activist and a lawyer Nighat Dad took social media making claims that the Qandeel’s story has been allegedly exploited by Baaghi’s producers.
She further added that the channel has pocketed profits and not paid the dues to the Qandeel’s family. And that the efforts have been being made by others for raising money for the parents of the deceased so that they can fight the ongoing court case. In response many came forward offering their help, as the subject was already controversial.
The producer of the series has denied any such claims being made against the drama series and the production team. According to producer, and General Manager of Urdu1, Nina Kashif, the makers of the drama took permission of Qandeel’s parents for the series in spite of the fact that only few original incidents of her real life were taken for the story line. The parents have signed a contract in Urdu and asked for an amount in return which was paid.
