Pappu Saain – the legendary dhol player, passes away in Lahore

Pappu Saain – the legendary dhol player, passed away in Lahore on Sunday.

Well-known drummer Zulfiqar Ali alias Pappu Saain was also associated with the famous musical band “Overload”.

His Namaz-i-Janaza was offered at Shah Jamal Darbar at 3:00 pm.

Pappu Sain, a recipient of the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz, was admitted to Pakistan Kidney and Liver Transplant Institute (PKLI) for over a month.

He was suffering from liver cancer for over two years and was rushed to the medical after his health deteriorated.

According to media reports, medical tests revealed that 80% of the liver was damaged.

Doctors suggested him a liver transplant which cost around Rs5 million that his family couldn’t afford. 

Pappu Sain’s family sought help from the Punjab government for his treatment last month.
