Veteran Director Terry Jones Passes Away at 77

Hollywood’s successful director from 70s and 80s Terry Jones passed away at age 77, in his home situated in North London. The veteran director best known for his film series Monty Python suffered from a rare form of dementia.

“Terry passed away on the evening of 21 January 2020 at the age of 77 with his wife Anna Soderstrom by his side after a long, extremely brave but always good humoured battle with a rare form of dementia, FTD,” said the family in a statement.

“We have all lost a kind, funny, warm, creative and truly loving man whose uncompromising individuality, relentless intellect and extraordinary humour has given pleasure to countless millions across six decades,” the statement further said.

In 2015, Terry was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia. He continued to suffer from the illness and also spoke of his experience while suffering from the rare disease.

Best known for his films like Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Life of Brian and The Meaning of Life, Terry also wrote 20 children books and created TV shows.
