At least 11 members of Tableeghi Jamaat have contracted coronavirus in Sindh’s Sanghar district, the deputy commissioner has confirmed on Thursday.
The deputy commissioner Dr Imran-ul-Hassan has said that samples were taken from 96 Tableeghi Jamaat members who were quarantined in different areas of the district adding that 11 of them were confirmed to have coronavirus while the result of 16 more people is still awaited.
The total number of confirmed cases in Sanghar district is now 16.
The total number of coronavirus infected patients in Pakistan has climbed to 6,919 as the country recorded 414 new cases on Thursday, whereas, 4 deaths were reported during the last 24 hours, reports said.
As per the statistics issued by government, 1,645 patients have recovered from the viral infection, while the death toll stands at 128.
The coronavirus tally in Punjab jumped to 3,291, 2,008 in Sindh, 912 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), 280 in Balochistan, 237 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), 145 in Islamabad and 46 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
