At least 178,892 COVID-19 cases have been confirmed while 3,542 deaths reported so far in the country, the National Command Operation Centre (NCOC) released the data adding that a total of 70,328 people have recovered from the lethal virus.
According to the latest figures, Sindh has reported the highest number of cases with over 69,000 people infected with the disease while the death toll has jumped to 1089.
During the last 24 hours, more than 2,275 new cases were reported in the province.
As per the updated data, coronavirus cases in Punjab has also surge to 65,739. The province has reported the highest number 1,407 deaths across the country.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 21,444 COVID-19 cases were registered, in Balochistan, over 9,000 cases while in Islamabad, confirmed cases have climbed to 10,662.
Following the spike in COVID-19 cases and fatalities, PM’s aide Dr Zafar Mirza advised people to wear masks and practice social distancing whenever going out.
