Meri Shehzadi Last Episode Review: As expected, Dania meets a tragic end

Meri Shehzadi the drama serial airing on HUM TV has finally come to its conclusion and it was quite a disappointing end. There is no poetic or divine justice, the good ones face all the punishment and the power triumphs. The ending is not unexpected we were anticipating a tragic end for Dania as we know it is based loosely on the life of Princess Daina. However, the way the ending is written and executed is not impressive at all.

In the previous episode, we have seen that Dania’s popularity graph goes down when she in a public press conference shares her decision to marry Dr Hassan. It is restated by Party Chairman too. However in the following scenes, we see that her popularity graph again rises sky, and people are showering their immense love on her which doesn’t make any sense because she has not shown doing any significant welfare projects.

It is good to see Dania return Dr Hassan’s love and she is ready to spend the rest of her life with him. They try to create cute moments but was failing miserably in it. Farhan Khan the king of romance fails to create his magic here. There is no such crackling chemistry between Urwa and Farhan on screen. It is undoubtedly one of the weakest performances by Urwa.

Meri Shehzadi had a lot of potentials, and the story premises are unique but it’s the execution and the character of Dania the way it is written that make the whole play drag. The ending is not an exception, it is equally bad. The ending is tragic. Dania and Dr Hassan both die on the spot in a fatal car accident which in reality is an assassination attempt by Shahana’s hitman Bohla. We understand that the play is based on reality where we seldom see evil people getting punished.

The ending is realistic and the star of the show is Atiqa Odho jee with her brilliant performance as Shahana it would not be wrong to say that it is Atiqa Odho who was carrying the whole show. It is shown that Atiqa Odho like a typical politician is cashing Dania’s death. She says that she will continue all of Dania’s welfare projects. In short, the landscape of Meri Shehzadi was very large and interesting but writing and its execution cannot do justice to it. This project also marks Qavi Khan’s last project. Anyways Meri Shehzadi will be remembered for its unique story premises and a good attempt by Zanjabeel Asim and Qasim Mureed.
