Razia Last Episode Review: Razia herself is the narrator of her own story

Razia ends on a brave and liberating note

Razia, Express TV’s mini-series finally comes to its conclusion on a very happy note. It was good to see that Razia finally got herself liberated from all the oppression and domestic violence. We also get to know that this is the story of the narrator herself. It is Razia who is telling the audience her own life story. The performances are all super brilliant. And we must applaud Shaheera Jalil Albasit’s performance as the young Razia. In the previous episode, we came to know that Razia was trapped in an abusive marriage.

Razia gets assaulted on her wedding night, her monster husband is a sadist and all he wants is to punish her for the sins she has not even committed. He beats the hell out of Razia, makes her work like a maid and then he does not even let her eat on the table. She eats sitting on the floor. Razia’s husband keeps beating her all the time and we are wondering why Razia is enduring all this torture.

Razia has disappointed us the most in the case where she is silently enduring all the domestic abuse on her. Why she has not taken any steps for her own self? It is only when she gives birth to a daughter she has grown her spine. She is enduring all the torture for whom’s sake? It is when her husband divorced her on giving birth to a girl she gathers the courage to slap hard on his face.

It is so typical that Razia’s husband automatically gets caring when he hears that she is expecting his child, he is expecting her to deliver a boy but Allah has her own ways of giving justice he blessed Razia with a baby girl she named her Sawaira. It is also a relief to see Razia’s mother having her conscience awaken the scene where she is beating the hell out of her son is so satisfying to watch. Poetic justice has been served.

Razia once again starts dreaming. She started giving tuition to children and also pursued her dream of learning. Razia raises her daughter, not the way her parents have raised her version of Sawaira tum bari ho gaee ho is so cute that you need a bigger cycle. Razia ends up buying cycle from Manno’s shop is such a wholesome scene where the writer leaves an open ending. Their friendship is precious.

Razia ends on a note of liberation. Liberating oneself from the shackles of the so-called standards of this society. On the other hand, it lays great emphasis on women’s education and women’s rights. Let all Razias live, let’s pledge to spread awareness and take a stand for women’s education and their rights. More Power to Razia. Kudos to the entire cast and makers of Razia for conveying a brave but much-needed message.
